My Family

My husband and I spent our first three dates at the West Central Georgia Fair. In twenty-three years of marriage, it’s not been all cotton candy days. We’ve faced stormy weather and lived through the worst of all tragedies when our sweet and strong son, Andrew, went to Heaven at the age of 12. With the help of our ABBA FATHER, we are still standing.
Together.

Diagnosed with brain cancer in August ’09, Andrew faced 4 brain surgeries in less than 4 months and on December 15, 2009, he met Jesus face to face. Our hope is in Christ and our enduring faith that one day all will be made right and every promise will be fulfilled.

Fall ’09
While recuperating from brain surgery, Andrew gets a call from Tony Hawk ~ pro skateboarder.

Our son, Avery, is a senior in high school and is dual enrolled at our local college. His interests are music production and parkour. (You’ll have to google “parkour.”)
Our daughter, Audra, is a senior at the Unversity of South Florida. Her major is journalism. Her passions are playing guitar, writing songs and triathlons.
Andrew‘s passions: skateboarding, graffiti art and dogs ~ He never met a dog he didn’t like!

Melanie: Saw your comment on Eileen’s blog and followed yours. Read about Andrew. A local lady and family, who now live in Florida, lost their son to a brain tumor. Her name is Sherri Tucker. I reviewed her book here. http://billgrandi.ovcf.org/wordpress/?m=20120208 You may also know of Lynette Kraft who lost her 6 year old to a rare disease. http://billgrandi.ovcf.org/wordpress/?m=20120404 I pray you continue in your ministry of encouraging others, especially to those who have faced the heartbreak of childhood death. BTW: I am also on Daily Mile (cycling)
