I started running in 2000, entering 5k’s and even a half marathon. Then one day I stopped.
I started running again in April 2010 as a way of dealing with the grief over losing my 12 year old son, Andrew. He was diagnosed with stage 4 brain cancer in August 2009 and left our home for his heavenly one on December 15, 2009. I consider the ability to run a gift from God.
I’ve entered several 5k’s, a midnight 10k and am training for my second half marathon.
I wear Vibrams and Asics and run 3 – 8 miles 5 – 6 days a week.
Some days I don’t feel like running and those are the days I push myself to do it anyway.
“We run in order to practice not quitting.”

I blog about running and interview other moms who run at See My Mom Run. Just click on the pic to go there.
Run With Endurance
I am the leader of a local Run With Endurance (RWE) chapter for women who walk and run for fitness. It is open to any woman at any fitness level. We meet at a local park one morning a week for a 35 – 40 minute run (or walk) followed by a short (20 minutes) Bible Study. Together we can develop our physical and spiritual endurance one step at a time. If you live in the Tampa Bay area and are interested in being a part of RWE, email me at mdorsey@tampabay.rr.com and put RWE in the subject line.
RWE Mission: To equip women to be who God created them to be by building endurance physically and spiritually to run their personal race.
For more information on the founder of RWE, Casie Dussia, visit the Run With Endurance website here.
